what should the opening in the door be???

The Fastec 43610-09-SP Travel Trailer Lock is designed for a door cutout measuring 2-3/4" wide x 3-3/4" high and fits doors measuring 1-1/4" to 1-1/2" thick. Unfortunately, your existing opening of 2-3/4" x 4-3/4" is taller than the recommended cutout, and this lock would not completely cover the opening.
