The Shoreline Reels RL54331LMK is designed for installation in low-profile RV storage compartments and certain fifth wheel frame applications. However, the manufacturer specifies that the reel should not be used outdoors. If you intend to mount the reel underneath your RV, it must be housed in a suitable enclosed compartment protected from rain, road spray, and other environmental exposure. Mounting it directly to an exposed undercarriage is not recommended.
