No the Norcold Polar 8DC doesn't require a roof vent. The 8DC uses built in ventilation at the top and bottom of the refrigerator. Its listed draw is 7.9 amps at 12V DC.

I want to replace a Dometic refrigerator Mod DM2662LBFX with the Norcold Polar 8 DC you sell. Can I use the side vents that are used on the Dometic, or must I use a roof vent with the Norcold? Also, what is the AMP draw with the Norcold?
