The RV Pigtails 40046 doesn't need to be spliced into the existing wiring. The 6 way end plugs directly into the matching connector on the camper, and the 7 way blade end plugs into the tow vehicle's standard 7 way socket. If the connector has been removed and there are only bare wires, this pigtail will not connect directly and additional wiring or a replacement connector would be required.

I have a 2007 Palomino. We replaced the socket because the contact wasn’t turning on lights, blinkers and brakes. It might be too old, but the wiring is so thick for the 7 way socket. The 7 way socket screws are so small for some reason they come on down when we unplugged it from my vehicle. I just don’t know what to do.
