If the thermostat is reading the room temperature incorrectly, we recommend first checking that the fan is set to auto, and not on, since on can cause the fan to run continuously. You may also want to compare the thermostat reading to a separate thermometer placed near it. If the thermostat is mounted near direct sunlight, a vent, appliance, or another heat/cold source, that can affect the reading. If the location looks good and the temperature reading is still off, the thermostat or room sensor may be faulty, and replacement would be recommended.
