The MTI 45-741 is similar to the 70-742 in that both are 12V hardwired CO and LP gas alarms, but it may not be a direct replacement. The 45-741 is surface-mount; the 70-742 was a flush-mount style. Also, if your current unit is a 70-742-R or relay-style model that controls a propane shutoff solenoid, the 45-741 would not be the correct replacement, as it does not include a relay/solenoid shutoff control.
