Yes, you can use the AP Products 024-1001 Tank Check on a horizontal (ASME) motorhome tank. It’s a magnetic ultrasonic puck that sticks to the center steel bottom of the tank shell.
How to do it right on a horizontal tank:

Location: Bottom-center of the tank body, not on a weld, seam, or the cradle/strap. Clean to bare metal if you can; wipe with alcohol.

Snap-on: Let the magnet grab; make sure it’s fully flush (no scale, thick paint blobs, or rust lips).

Optional coupling aid: A very thin smear of dielectric grease/Vaseline on the contact area can improve the echo on older painted tanks.
