The CCI 7719 (3 wires) dectors had a feature to automatically shutoff the gas supply to the rv. Cci is no longer in business and no other gas detectors have this feature so one of the red wires and the yellow wire will not be used anymore.
Red (2 wires): These are both +12VDC feeds. One is incoming 12V power, the other is a passthrough that powered the RV propane gas valve (it shut off gas if the detector tripped).
Yellow: This is the signal/valve shutoff control wire. When the detector went into alarm, it cut power through this line and closed the valve.
Your New Safe-T-Alert (2 wires)
Red: +12VDC power in.
Black: Ground (-12V).
To Connect Them
1. Pick one of the red wires from the old detector (the one that is the incoming +12V feed) and connect it to the red on the Safe-T-Alert.
2. Black from the Safe-T-Alert goes to chassis ground (or the same ground as the old detector if you can find it).
3. The second red wire and the yellow wire from the old unit are no longer used.
If the RV still has an electric gas shutoff solenoid, it will need to be removed. It is located at the propane tank
