If there are screws: You might find screws securing the battery cover at the base. Unscrew these to remove the cover.If there's a twist-off cap: Firmly grasp the bottom of the lantern and twist the cap counterclockwise to unlock and lift it off. Some users have mentioned arrows on the bottom indicating which way to twist.If it has tabs/latches: Some models might have two tabs on the side of the battery compartment. Squeeze these tabs towards the battery compartment and pull the battery case out. Other models have a latch to depress that allows the compartment to open or flip open.
