Equalizer Systems hydraulic leveling systems use Dexron III ATF (Automatic Transmission Fluid) or equivalent Dex/Merc ATF.
✅ Acceptable Fluids:-
Dexron III
-
Dexron VI (compatible)
-
Mercon/Dexron (multi-vehicle ATF)
-
Valvoline MaxLife ATF (popular all-purpose option)
-
Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF (if you want synthetic)
❌ Do NOT use:
-
Brake fluid
-
Power steering fluid
-
Hydraulic jack oil
-
Tractor/transmission fluid
They can damage the seals or gum up the pump.
🔧 Fill & Maintenance Tips:
-
Reservoir is usually mounted on or near the pump.
-
Check with jacks retracted and RV level.
-
Should be about ½” below the fill port when cold.
-
Overfilling will cause spillage when jacks retract.
If you just installed the system or replaced components, cycle the jacks 3–4 times to bleed out air before topping off.
