To operate an Equalizer Systems auto-leveling system (common on RVs and trailers), here’s the no- xxxx breakdown:
✅ Startup Checklist
-
RV in park
-
Ignition key in ACC or engine running (depends on system)
-
Jacks retracted
-
Chock the wheels – don’t skip this.
🔧 Automatic Leveling Mode
-
Power On
-
Press the "Power" button. You should see lights come on the control pad.
-
-
Verify “All Jacks Retracted” Light
-
If not lit, press "Retract All" first to start clean.
-
-
Hit “Auto Level”
-
Press the “Auto Level” button once. System will:
-
Drop all jacks to ground
-
Extend rear jacks to level front-to-rear
-
Then adjust left-to-right side
-
-
-
System will stop automatically when level is achieved.
-
Takes ~1-3 minutes
-
⚠️ Common Gotchas
-
Low voltage? Auto level may fail or act erratic.
-
Suspension settled uneven? Recheck bubble level after 10 minutes.
-
Soft ground? You need jack pads or you’ll sink and throw off leveling.
-
If jacks don't retract later: Use the manual override (see below).
🛠️ Manual Mode (if Auto Level fails)
-
Hit Power
-
Use “Manual” button or arrow buttons to control jacks one by one.
-
Adjust until your onboard level (or bubble level) reads good.
🔄 To Retract Jacks
-
Press "Retract All"
-
Wait for “All Jacks Retracted” light
If a jack is stuck:
-
Use manual retract mode (hold arrow until jack retracts fully)
-
Some models have a bypass valve or power-down option in emergency
🧰 Maintenance Tips
-
Keep jack rods clean and lubricated with silicone spray
-
Cycle system monthly if RV is parked for long periods
-
Watch for error codes or blinking lights – check the manual for specific codes
