It sounds like a frustrating situation! Here are a few suggestions to help you remove those spinning nuts:
Apply a generous amount of penetrating oil (like WD-40) to the nuts and let it sit for a while to loosen any corrosion. Locking Pliers: Use locking pliers (like Vise-Grips) to grip the nut firmly and prevent it from spinning while you try to loosen it with a wrench. Impact Wrench: If you have access to an impact wrench, it can provide the extra force needed to break the nuts free from the tank mount. Heat: Carefully applying heat to the nut with a heat gun or propane torch can expand the metal and help break the bond. Be cautious not to overheat and damage the propane tank or surrounding components. Bolt Extractor: If the nut is still spinning, you might need to use a bolt extractor tool to remove the bolt first, then deal with the nut separately. Drilling: As a last resort, you can drill out the nut. Use a drill bit that's slightly smaller than the nut and drill through the center. Be careful not to damage the propane tank or surrounding area.
