The components of rubber compounds may be unknown and possibly incompatible with Boeshield T-9 Rust/Corrosion Protection/Waterproof Lubrication, 4 Oz. As a rule, hard/dense rubber will not degrade when exposed to T-9. Soft spongy rubber compounds may degrade when exposed to T-9 for long periods of time. If rubber surfaces are exposed to T-9, simply wipe off immediately. It is not recommended to intentionally apply T-9 to protect rubber. T-9 is flammable and should not be applied around open flames or very hot surfaces. The waxy solution melts away at temperatures greater than 130 degrees Fahrenheit. If applied to warm surfaces (less than 130 degrees), allow it to cool prior to application and allow it to dry before using equipment. The carrier solvents in T-9 work great to clean dirty surfaces from dirt, dust, oil, and grease. Simply apply and immediately wipe away.
