We are replacing "SpringLift Gas Springs SL-16-90-1" models. Is the 10# Force model shown OK?
Attwood SL16-10-1 Hatch Lift Gas Spring, 10.2 - 17.2'', 10mm Socket, 10 Lbs Force
Gas Struts
We had not used the under-bed hatch in our 2003 Holiday Rambler RV much. Don't know if we just forgot how to do it, but both SpringLifts seem to be locked in the upright position. We assume that means they need to be replaced.

Inspect the Attwood SL16-10-1 Hatch Lift Gas Spring, 10.2 - 17.2'', 10mm Socket, 10 Lbs Force: First, check for visible obstructions or debris preventing the gas spring from moving. Dirt, rust, or other particles can interfere with its operation. Ensure the gas spring is not bent or damaged; if it is, replacement might be necessary. Release Mechanism: These gas springs typically have a release mechanism to unlock them from their upright position. Look for any buttons, levers, or locks near the gas spring. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions to disengage it if found. Lubrication: Apply lubricant (such as silicone spray or white lithium grease) to the gas spring’s moving parts. This can help improve functionality. Gently move the gas spring up and down to distribute the lubricant. Gas Spring Replacement: If the gas spring remains stuck despite your efforts, it’s likely that it needs replacement. You can find replacement Attwood SL16-10-1 Hatch Lift Gas Springs specifically designed for your needs.
