When my steps are almost retracted the steps shake like they dont know they need to stop. But they do stop after a few seconds. After looking at the gear several teeth are missing at the end of the gear. Would replacing the gear fix this or is this a symptom of another problem?

If your Lippert 369354 Entry Step Gear for Kwikee 24/25 Series Triple Steps is experiencing issues due to missing teeth on the gear plate, the stepping mechanism may jerk or shake due to improper meshing. However, steps will still retract, albeit less smoothly. If numerous teeth are absent, consider replacing the gear plate for optimal functionality. But, don't forget to inspect other components. Check the step motor's functionality, as its malfunction can cause irregular movement. Examine the linkage and pivot points for wear or binding and lubricate if required. Review limit switches as faulty ones may cause steps to overshoot retraction before stopping. If replacing the gear plate doesn't resolve the issue, it may be time to seek professional help. A technician can provide a more thorough diagnosis and address any underlying problems with your Lippert 369354 Entry Step Gear for Kwikee 24/25 Series Triple Steps.
