The Dometic Sail Switch is a vital component of the RV propane furnace operation. The sail switch, located within the furnace's air path, ensures adequate airflow before allowing ignition. When the thermostat calls for heat, the blower motor starts, activating the sail switch. This switch confirms that sufficient air is being drawn over the heat-exchanging surface, permitting the control board to ignite the propane burner. Without a functioning Dometic Sail Switch, the Atwood HydroFlame AF/Dometic DF Furnace system may not ignite, preventing the RV from being heated properly.
