Question: Is there a difference in the two limit switches on a suburban hot water heater
Answer: Yes, the two switches serve different purposes. One is the operating thermostat which controls normal water temperature. The other is the high limit safety switch that shuts the heater down if it overheats.
Question: Is this for the gas model only?
Answer: Yes. Part # 232282 is the ECO for the Gas side only and Part # 232306 is the ECO for the Electric side only.
