Yes, you can use power adapters or 'dog bones adapters' with your surge protector. You just want to make sure that all your connections are tight and secure. You never want to pull or draw more amps than your RV or equipment is rated for (shore cable, surge protector, etc), and you can never pull more than the breaker will allow on the source (30A or 50A pedestal, etc).
