The text alert is optional, and the unit will start/stop the generator without you having to subscribe. The text alerts are useful if for some reason your generator failed even though our unit is sending the command to start or if you run out of fuel and the gen stops. We offer the option to pause the subscription during the time you have your unit in storage and can resume text alerts when you are camping again.
