I reached out to a tech at NSA and he said their Ready Brake is meant to pull on a dead pedal. Meaning the vacuum booster does not need to be powered up. It actually works better with the vacuum not being powered on.
Is there a vacuum pump to keep the booster charged? It seems it would pull too hard without the booster. Ready Brute RB-9050-2 Elite II Tow Bar And Brake Combo
The peddle moved a lot further when there is vacuum in the booster of the towed vehicle than when it is exhausted and then it takes a great deal of force to apply the brakes.
