According to the Lippert, the black wire is for the light under the step . The purple wire is an optional porch light. Most manufacturers do not use that wire.
I just bought the replacement part for my step it has a black and purple wire which I don’t know what those are for Lippert 301702 Control Module For Electric Coach Step kwikee
I have the new step controller but it has a black and purple for the light I guess my old one has a black and green is that correct
