Question: Does the rack on the glass plate need to be removed when using the microwave?
Answer: I'm not sure what the rack looks like that you're referring to, but yes you would want to place your bowls or plates right on the turntable when cooking.
Question: How is the RV-500-OTR vented and what are instructions to install? how much clearance back vented from wall?
