I can tell you it senses 180 degrees up down and side to side. But it is extra sensitive in the middle as the two sensors converge, but can’t remember what that bleed ratio is. I can also tell you that it only senses what it can see, so if under an awning or obstructed by anything it will not be triggered. Also, the colder the outside temp, the more sensitive. There are potentiometers to adjust the sensor's sensitivity.
Being within 15' should easily trigger the light to come on if the potentiometers are not set too low. You may have to play with the sensitivity settings.
