The max potential startup for that Coleman Mach 8 Cub 47201B876 model would be 29.25 amps.

I called the company, they stated the start-up wattage is 2820 steady running after start-up 1410. Frustrating because folks have stated a 2000 inverter works with the A/C but maybe older model years? Is start-up of things normally double the steady running wattage?

I reached out to my tech at Coleman and he said... For an HVAC system, I always recommend multiplying the full load running amperage by 2.5. An electric motor alone can take up to 2 times running for startup, but in an HVAC system you have to account for the pressure the compressor has to fight against to start. That being said, someone may be able to run off of a particular size generator when outside temps are in the 70’s, but have a completely different experience when temps reach the 80’s and 90’s. The higher the outdoor temperature, the higher the pressure will be in the system.
