I have 2 dometic power awnings on my trailer. Since these are just 12v control circuits why wouldnt this work with my awning

I spoke with my rep at Carefree and the 901600 wireless awning control system is not compatible with the 12V Dometic awnings. The wiring isn't the same so therefore the Carefree wireless system wouldn't communicate properly with a Dometic powered awning.

It may be true that they are not the same but I cant believe that it couldn't be adapted. I have a degree in electronics and a lot of experience with electronic circuits. I would be willing to tackle the project if you are interested.
