It really depends on the installation of the break away canister and lines going to the canister. The break away canister with attached valves is 12 inches long and 2 1/2 inches in diameter. You will need enough space so that nothing comes into contact with it and so that you can reach your hand down to loosen the bleed valve to release condensation when needed.
