The camera and marker lights both have individual power wires, so it is at the discretion of you or the manufacturer how you have them wired, and when they have power. They require a constant 12V and 300mA to function. Most people like to have them on at all times while driving to view blind spots, and you can have them re-wired if you do not agree with the way your manufacturer had them prepped.
