The older manual cranks did have a metal shaft but the new ones do not. They put glass type substance into the material so that the shaft will grab the gears just like the metal one did.
Does the interior shaft of this knob have a metal insert so it will not strip out? I’m not talking about the screw Dometic K1140-09 Roof Vent Manual Lift Arm Knob RV Vent Accessories
Our original knob has stripped all the plastic in the shaft so it just spins and doesn’t lift the vent know it has finally broke into pieces. Is there a replacement crank handle that has a metal insert inside shaft so this doesn’t happen again? This is for a fantastic fan in a arctic fox camper manual crank
