Power in the USA is 120 volts. So the generator is probably 120 volts. You could have 240 volts, which is two legs of 120 volts, in the house panel. The 40100 will work, yes.

Surge Guard 40100-001 Basic 50 Amp Automatic Transfer Switch

The Surge Guard Basic 50 Amp Automatic Transfer Switch transfers to generator power automatically when energized after a 30-second delay. Once the generator is shut down, shore power activates after a 3-4 second delay.
