Typically the product is applied in the 5 to 7 year range or whenever the roof becomes dark enough to want to improve the appearance. Yes you need to use part 1 and part 2.

If the coating is still holding up well, I’d probably avoid reapplying too frequently. It seems more practical to inspect the roof regularly and redo the full two-part system when the surface starts showing significant wear or discoloration. Using both the cleaner/activator and the coating seems important for the system to work as intended.
