Does this unit have a thermostat and isit 12V? Is the flame a nice rip roaring fire?

Each convenient control is located on the back of the stove. The flames come up from the "burning" coal. You can have the heat on or off with the flames and this unit is designed to heat up a space of 400 square feet.
