Suburban’s Water Heater ECOs (high limit and thermostat) are mounted to a stud that is spot welded to the tank and cannot be moved. Anode rods should be changed out when they’re 75% gone or 25% remaining. The general rule of thumb is to change the Anode Rod once a year. If the magnesium rod (part # 232767) is being eaten away every couple of months due to harsh water conditions, the Aluminum Anode Rod (part # 232768) might be a better choice to make.
