Heat strip VS Furnace
Advent Air ACMHD 5.5K BTU Heater Element
RV Air Conditioners
Can you set the dip switches so you can run both the heat strip and the furnace? How can you switch between the two? I would like to have both options available. I have the older thermostat not digital. Has a round dial.

I do not know of a set up that will allow you to run the heat strip and the furnace at the same time. I am sure there probably is some way to bypass it but I would not be sure on how to do that. Heat strips are normally used when you need to only heat up a few degrees, once you need it heated more than that few(3-5degrees), the furnace will kick on and that will shut the heat strip off since the furnace can normally take care of the job on its own. Unfortunately, I do not have a layout of the round dial thermostat to look at and verify how to switch between the two. I know with the Coleman A/C units, if you turn the heat up and the heat strip can not handle it, the switch from heat strip to furnace is automatic.

Upon further research: The thermostat I have does not support the optional heat strip. And for me to upgrade the thermostat, I would have to upgrade the lower unit part of the AC. So I'll buy some room heaters for use when plugged in and use the furnace when not. Thank you for your response!
