Bypassing the surge protector
If one is having issues with power in general, it sounds like there is a switch that can be used to disable the surge protector and remove it as part of troubleshooting. Does this physically isolate the unit so that one knows for sure it is out of the circuit? Is this accomplished using high power relays or an active electronic component? If the units fails and bypassed, how confident can I be that it is out of the circuit?

When trouble shooting our units its always best to contact Progressive Tech@ 1-800-307-6702 op#2 for assistance. However to answer his question the by-pass switch only disables the Low/High voltage and Low/High Frequency detection. It does not shut of surge protection so the Unit is not removed from the system. This is controlled at the Logic Board.
