When properly installed the Dicor lap sealant may last a year or more. The pitfalls to this Dicor lap sealant are, if there are oils or residue left on the roof, it will not adhere properly to your roof. Another pitfall would be that you are not able to tell just by looking at it if it is sealed properly, you will need to physically check it and make sure that it is still sealed. You should do this roughly every 3 months to ensure that you have no leaks. A product that would be more long term, would be the Eternabond roof tape. Eternabond tape creates a bond with chemical properties that bonds onto your roof for a lasting, no mess, seal.
