The advantage of the AC connection on the Tank Blanket 61003 Holding Tank Heater is less drain on your battery. DC power is more of a drain on your battery. AC pulls 144 watts but only 1.2 amps. DC, on the other hand, pulls 165 watts and 12 amps.
