If you do not use your filter, you can place this Flow-Pur FP-WP100 in and leave it there or you can unhook the two water pipes on either side of your filter and hook them together and bypass it completely since it is not being used anyway. Also, there is a product you may be interested in, the HM Digital LeakBlock. This will shut the water off for you if it detects a leak. There are two of these kits you can get, one with 1/2" fittings and one without. You can check out more information on this product here-->
