Yes, you are correct. It does need to be a hybrid. The DS-1005 comes with a DPP LNB it does not come with the Hyrbid LNB. You would need to get a Hybrid LNB from DISH.
Is the LNBF hybrid? Have a Hopper 3. Can I use the Winegard DS-1005 Dish 1000 Antenna as mobile dish for Hopper 3? Winegard DS-1005 Dish 1000 Antenna RV Antennas Receivers
My understanding is, it needs to be a hybrid.
