It seems like it may be a wiring issue. I would take it to a specialist and make sure everything is hooked up properly. The light on the autoformer will stay lit when it has a good connection with the RV.
I have a RV220-50 50 Amp , Hughes Autoformer RV220-50 50 Amp Voltage Booster Hughes Autoformer
should the Neutral Connection light flash red when I am connected to a 20 amp receptacle
