mounting foot has to 12" away from the edge , I have to mount mine 8" from rear center edge due 2 to 14' slideouts

I checked reception on the unit prior to mounting the antenna on a level spot in the center line of the 40' T/T because of 15K roof mount rear a/c and vent system and it has twin rear 14' slide outs so mounting in the center of the trailer and trying to run 25 to 30' of coax inside is not an option . The 2 rearward mounting feet are 8" from rear edge and 40" back from A/C unit and vent systems .The tv/rec went through initial scan and began operating in less than 30 seconds . The roof on my T/T is laminated rubber & 1/8" aluminum sheet on top of 3/8 marine plywood . Mounting feet were mounted using aircraft riv-nuts 10/32 with .150 to .275 gripping capability . I do not understand why it says in the instructions it has to be 12" from the edge ? the dome itself is 12" from the rear edge .

The dome needs to be 12" from the edge to protect the unit from the wind as you are driving down the road.
