I reached out to my contact at ScanGauge and they stated as long as you have the round port with 6 pin then the ScanGaugeD should work with your 1997 Fleetwood Discovery with a 5.9l 12 valve and Alison 6 speed.

Answer: This ScanGaugeD Plugs into the J1939 or J1708 diagnostic connector already built into most 1987 or Newer Diesel Pusher Motor Homes, RV’s and Large Diesel Over-The-Road Trucks. I will include a picture of these connectors below for you.

Answer: This will work as long as the engine is an electronic version and you have a 6 pin or 9 pin connector located near the steering column under the dash.
