How do you tell if the automatic transfer switch is bad?

You will want to check to see if the shore power is getting to the switch. If power is getting to the switch but not going into the RV, then it is the switch. Generally switches will go bad on the shore power side but will still work on the generator side. If the switch is bad, unfortunately they do not make replacement parts and you would need to replace the entire automatic transfer switch.
