I want to know if the video will tranmit over the length of the vehicle and into the cab of my tow truck without distortion.

With this running off of a frequency wave, there can be some variables that will cause this to distort. On some customer reviews they say that power lines interfere a little at times. It should be a pretty decent picture otherwise.
