Yes, this will filter the water the same whether its connected city water or something else. Also, as long as you flush the clorox water out well, it should not create any problems with the filter.

I saw the Is the Camco 40043 TastePURE KDF/Carbon Water Filtermaintain on RV Upgrade;
– Questions
(1) - does this filter maintain the same safe standards for filtering water when NOT USING THE CITY WATER connection BUT RATHER running water into the open fill point for the water storage tank?
(2) - I always rinse my hoses at end of a trip and before new trip by running and letting clorox water set in the hose for a short period of time before filling the holding tank, - - will that create any problem for the filter?
