A 1000 watt inverter will produce approximately 9 amps. The Dirt Devil CV1500 uses 11.7 Max amps for start up and 8.7 continuous amps. It is borderline with the continuous amps so I couldn't say for sure. I would check your manual to see if your inverter has a peak/surge amount of power. Also is anything else being used with the inverter, if so then the inverter wont be able to run the Dirt Devil.
