Yes you would absolutely want to cut the power off if voltage dropped to low. Some people put a surge protector in from of the Hughes Autoformer unit to warn when voltage gets too high. One surge protector we have that will even warn you on your smart phone via text, is the one I have linked below.

This is one option, the RV220-50SP basically provides the same protection as the PWD50 other than a bluetooth notice. The bluetooth is just extra protection as it will notify on smart phone when there is an issue, this one will not shut the power off though. Another option you could use if you choose to also use a surge protector with the Hughes Autoformer is the EMS-PT50X linked below. This surge protector will shut off the power if the voltage gets too high or low. This is our recommendation for a surge protector, but it just all depends on what you prefer and want to spend.
