Yes you can unlock the Bauer EM lock with the key that comes with the lock. Do you already have one and it won't open for you? If you put the key in and it won't turn it is a possibility that there may be an obstruction with the deadbolt and that may be why the key won't turn the lock. If you would like to speak with a tech at Bauer, they should be able to talk you through how to fix it. 1-(866) 682-2837 hope this helps.
