You can not replace a 300:1 motor with a 500:1 without replacing the entire slide out assembly. 300:1 systems use aluminum shafts and parts that will snap immediately when put under the strain of a 500:1 motor. The coupling and shafts are also different shapes and sizes.
From what it sounds like, you either have too much weight in the slide, or a slide that needs some troubleshooting assistance to see if it was improperly installed.
500:1 motors don't run any faster, they just pull more weight.
Usually when a slide is running slow there is something impeding the operation of the motors, the motors aren't getting the proper power, or there's just too much weight in the room.
