Yes you would want to remove anything that is loose, then put the Awning Guard on.
In the before pictures it shows the awning strips tearing away. Are those to be cut off before you use SticknBond? Leisure Time 60099 StickNBond Awning Guard - White Carefree Awning Accessories
In the before pictures afraid parts of the awning are tearing away. Are they to be removed or glued back in place before applying the repair tape?
