According to Towmate, it can be placed inside the rear window of a hatchback, using the suction cup kit below.

Can this be placed inside the rear window of a hatchback to lower it, as opposed to the roof height? TowMate RVHW32 Wireless RV Tow Lighting System - 32'' Taillights
I'd like to have the lights at a more normal height for towing instead of putting this on top of the roof. Are the lights bright enough to shine through a rear window? Other issues with placing this inside the car?
